We’ve got a very special guest for our Wednesday, Feb. 3 meeting: First-year Congresswoman (and friend of the club) Sara Jacobs (D-San Diego).
Rep. Jacobs was scheduled to join us at our January meeting, but she had to cancel at the last minute – something to do with the Capitol being under attack by a pro-Trump terrorist mob. Maybe you heard about it in the news?
Ms. Jacobs was sworn in to Congress just a couple of weeks ago, but since then she’s been a dynamo. She joined the influential House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee, as well as the Foreign Affairs and Armed Services committees, and has been a prominent voice calling for the impeachment of Donald Trump and investigation into the Jan. 6 insurrection.
Ms. Jacobs ran on a platform emphasizing racial justice, support for small business, health care, immigration, housing and homelessness, and more.
We’ll talk with Ms. Jacobs about her experiences on Jan. 6, and plan for the country going forward. (Isn’t it great to have the adults running the country again, by the way?)
